Follow these 8 steps to link your store. Takes 5–10 minutes.

Log into your Shopify admin

Open a new browser tab and go to your Shopify store admin. The URL looks like: https://yourstore.myshopify.com/admin

ℹ️ Keep this StudioVel tab open. You'll come back to it at step 8 to finish connecting.

Open Settings → Apps and sales channels

In your Shopify admin, click Settings (gear icon, bottom-left).

In the Settings page, click Apps and sales channels in the left menu.

Click "Develop apps" → "Build apps"

At the top-right corner, click Develop apps.

Then click Build apps in Dev Dashboard — this opens Shopify's new Dev Dashboard in a new tab.

⚠️ If the "Develop apps" button is missing, your Shopify plan may not support custom apps. Basic plan ($39/month) and higher all work. Shopify Starter does not.

Create the app in Dev Dashboard

In the Dev Dashboard, click Create app (or + Create).

You'll see a form with multiple sections. Fill in only what's listed below — leave everything else blank or default.

💡 The form has fields for App name, URLs, Webhooks, Access (Scopes), Redirect URLs, POS, App proxy, Release. You only need App name and Scopes.

💡 These 5 scopes let StudioVel read your product list and publish generated images back. Nothing more — we can't access orders, customers, or payments.

Install the app on your store

After saving, find the Install button (usually top-right of the app page, or in an overview panel).

Click Install and confirm.

After clicking install, you might get redirected to a page that says "Example Domain" or similar. That's normal and safe — just close that tab. Your app is installed.

⚠️ You must install the app. Even if you can see the Client ID and Secret before installing, the connection won't work until the app is actually installed on your store.

Go back to your app's Dev Dashboard page. Look for a section called Client credentials (or API credentials / Settings).
